In **Obsession**, hopeless romantic Bear discovers the mysterious “One Wish Willow” and wishes that his longtime crush, Nikki, would love him more than anyone else in the world. His wish comes true, but the love he desperately wanted quickly transforms into something possessive, violent and terrifying. Written and directed by Curry Barker, *Obsession* takes a familiar “be careful what you wish for” story and twists it into a disturbing examination of entitlement, control, codependency and the dangerous belief that love can be forced. Then we enter **Backrooms**, the feature-film expansion of Kane Parsons’ viral internet horror universe. When a strange doorway appears in the basement of a furniture showroom, it opens into an impossible dimension filled with endless corridors, fluorescent lights and spaces that feel familiar but deeply wrong. After a patient disappears inside, his therapist ventures beyond reality in an attempt to find him. Does *Backrooms* successfully turn a minimalist YouTube phenomenon into a full-length theatrical story, or does explaining the mystery take away what originally made it frightening?
